Established in 1949, Shin Bet focuses on preventing espionage, detecting terrorist activities, and protecting key state figures and facilities. It operates through intelligence gathering, interrogation, and law enforcement collaboration. Notable for its role in thwarting terrorist plots, Shin Bet has also been involved in internal security operations during conflicts with Palestinian groups. Its covert actions ensure the protection of Israel's democratic institutions and public safety.
