Ken Wilson is an ELT author and trainer. His most recent course material includes Smart Choice, an American English course for young adults published by OUP, and You and Me, a six-level primary course for Indonesia. He is also one of the team of authors who wrote the New Standard English, a course for China which takes learners from primary to college level, which was co-published by Macmillan UK and Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, Beijing. Ken Wilson was a Keynote Speaker at The European Conference on Language Learning 2014 (ECLL2014) in Brighton, England. In his Keynote Speech Mr Wilson introduces a variety of techniques to help language teachers better motivate their students. Materials available to language teachers are sophisticated and various, but to get the best out of them, teachers need to engage their students’ interest. Teachers need to challenge students, make them curious and encourage them to be imaginative. In his talk, Mr. Wilson suggests ten ways teachers can engage their students’ interest and access their knowledge.
