Mountain Realm (of projects Atrium Carceri/Za Frûmi) presents his 4th album on Cryo Crypt. A mist filled ancient nordic folk tale fantasy revolving around a long journey to, and exploration, of the old ruins of long gone civilizations buried beneath the ice in the Frozen Wastes.

"Beneath the icy surface of the Frozen Wastes
lie the leftovers of a forgotten civilization,
long buried by snow and time. These ruins are
scattered across the tundra, hidden deep beneath
the frozen ground. The Orcs have long known of
these places, delving into them in search of relics
and treasures. But the ruins are dangerous, filled
with traps, strange artifacts, and creatures that
should have remained forgotten.

The deeper one goes, the more treacherous
the ruins become. Few who venture into the
depths return, and those who do speak of eerie,
mechanical sounds echoing through the tunnels—
like the ticking of some ancient, forgotten clock.
Whatever once thrived in these ruins is long gone,
but its remnants still haunt the corridors below
the ice.

Orlan’s Notes:
“The ruins beneath the Wastes are more than just
ancient debris. There’s something down there—
something older than time. I’ve been inside some of the
upper tunnels. The air feels wrong, like you’re walking
into the belly of a beast that’s been asleep since before
the creation of the world. You can hear it sometimes—
the ticking. It echoes through the walls, faint, but there.

The Orcs go in looking for relics, but they don’t go
too deep. I’ve asked them why. They say it’s because
nothing down there is worth the risk. When they lose
someone in the ruins, they don’t go looking. Ever. They
just leave them to whatever took them. I learned this
the hard way when I asked why we weren’t going after
an Orc who had disappeared during a delve. They
just looked at me, stone-faced, and said, ‘He’s gone.’
No more questions. No more discussion. That’s when I
realized: even the Orcs are terrified"
