In 2012, international Canadian rock band Simple Plan performed in Vietnam for the very first time at the MTV EXIT: Live in Hanoi concert in front of 40,000 screaming fans to raise awareness about human trafficking and exploitation.
Following the concert event, the band made a special journey to the north of Vietnam where they had the chance to engage with at-risk vulnerable populations from ethnic minority communities. Simple Plan met with two organizations Sapa O'Chau and Pacific Links, who provided a valuable first hand education about the dangers of human trafficking in the region and the importance of education in the prevention modern day slavery.
