This is a story of a Royal Family from the north-Eastern extremes of India. The drama is played-out in the undivided Indian Subcontinent – Tripura was then a piece of kingdom consisting of current Tripura and Chittagong which is now a part of Bangladesh. Their neighbours and enemy were from current Myanmar, a region called Arakan.
The Royal family consisted of and the main characters of the story are – the king, Amarmanikya, his three sons, the eldest prince and heir to throne, Chandranarayan, the second son and prince, Indrakumar and the third son and prince, Rajdhar. Isha Khan, an old Pathan was the head of Army and the Royal Master for educating the family in weaponry and war techniques.
Chandranarayan was the eldest son and as the eldest was loving, understanding, and also intelligent, statesmanly and had political intelligence and shrewdness.
Indrakumar was excellent in weaponry, was a great warrior, brave, a fine marksman and an expert with his bow and arrow.
Rajdhar, the youngest, was sly, cunning, and his intelligence was more into conspiracy and plotting than expertise in any form of royal talents.
