Join us for a ride through part of the Mojave desert, and a climb down the steep ladders, to see the colorful mineral vein at the Star Mine. This is a gold mine that operated primarily in the early 1900's. There is a well preserved head frame over the shaft that was used to haul equipment and supplies into the mine and ore and waste rock out. There is also some very nice miners graffiti done with the carbide headlamps they used for lighting their way through the mine. There are a few other drifts and shafts around the main site that we also explored.
