Must take Train from Budapest to a Festive Welcome in Magical Vienna.
There’s something magical about train travel—especially in Europe, where journeys are often as delightful as the destinations themselves. Our adventure began at Budapest’s Keleti Station, where we boarded the sleek and comfortable Railjet for a seamless ride to Vienna. With spacious seating, large windows showcasing the scenic Hungarian and Austrian countryside, and a smooth ride that made the three-hour journey fly by, it was the perfect way to transition into our next destination.
Upon arrival, we made our way to our abode for the next three nights—the Imperial Riding School, a stunning Marriott Autograph Collection hotel that blends historic charm with modern luxury. With its elegant interiors and warm hospitality, it felt like the ideal retreat after a day of travel. After checking in, we took a short rest, eager to recharge for an evening of festive delights.
As night fell, we headed to the Belvedere Christmas Market, our sixth market on this holiday journey. Nestled in front of the breathtaking Belvedere Palace, this market exudes a refined, almost regal charm. The stalls were adorned with twinkling lights, offering everything from handcrafted ornaments to decadent seasonal treats. We couldn’t resist indulging in rich, velvety hot chocolate and aromatic mulled wine, the perfect companions to the crisp winter air. Our bags quickly filled with charming Christmas trinkets—souvenirs to remind us of this magical evening.
To wind down the night, we returned to our hotel’s Ferrier Bar, an inviting space where we enjoyed a well-deserved nightcap. Sipping on expertly crafted cocktails in the bar’s cozy ambiance was the perfect way to toast to our first night in Vienna.
Stay tuned as we continue our Viennese adventure, exploring more of the city’s holiday magic and timeless charm!
