Plant Lovers, this week, on perusing the pages of W.H Nicolls' "Orchids of Australia" and paying more attention to orchid groups, I realise that that a plant of mine I've always called Dendrobium kingianum is in fact Dendrobium x delicatum; a naturally occurring hybrid between kingianum and speciosum!!! Funnily enough I do have a Dendrobium kingianum, which has a smaller habit and stronger magenta coloured flowers, so I think I'd just decided to ignore the OBVIOUS differences between the two plants! (Always a good strategy!) So let's have a closer look at this easy to grow plant. Its native to the East Coast of Australia, is a lithophyte with fragrant flowers, vigorous growth habit and is very tough!
