Turning this existing window seat into a cedar-lined storage bench (for under $250!) ended up being way harder than I expected. And. . . before all you woodworkers chime in, yeah I know, it's mostly my own fault. :)
Look - we're not carpenters. Clearly. :D But I figured the plan was simple enough: cut out the lids, line the storage space with cedar, and then re-attach the lids with piano hinges. Bada bing, bada boom.
Yeah. Things DEFINITELY got away from us.
Still, I think the end result is still pretty good. And it only cost around $250 for all the materials.
So now it's your turn. . . all you wood-working, tree-milling, boat-building, cabinet-making geniuses. What'd we do wrong? Or right?
