In this video, I’m sharing my first impressions and experiences journaling in my very first Hobonichi Weeks. After using the Hobonichi A5 Cousin and A6 Techo Original in previous years, I switched to a multi-book system for 2025, and this planner in the Unsodo Bijutsukai cover has become my dedicated work planner.
I’ll walk through what has worked well, including tracking daily to-do lists, celebrating weekly wins, and using the planner to think ‘aloud’.
But I’ll also share what hasn’t worked — realizing I don’t need as much space as I thought, wanting a better way to plan further in advance, and navigating the recent Tomoe River Paper quality issues.
If you use a planner for your work and career, I’d love to hear about your experience. How do you make the most of it? How did you overcome limitations?
Next week, I’ll share a flip through of the Hobonichi Weeks I use to track my health and wellness, offering a look into how it has served as a loving partner as I live with insomnia and C-PTSD.
