This was an amazing experience as a foreigner in Indonesia in 2024. My first experience was last year. But being able to experience the Islamic holy month for Muslims, Ramadan. I didn't know at first, but Indonesia has the largest population of Muslims in the world.
The kindness and warmth of the Indonesian people will never stop surprising me. I was able to fast in Jakarta and then make my way to the incredible city of Bandung and then to the most insane Ramadan experience in Banda Aceh. I've been lucky enought to visit Istiqlal Mosque, Masjid Al Raya Jabbar and then the miracle mosque baiturrahman. I was then able to hunt for takjil and break my fast with delicious Indonesian foods. I had delicious food like sate ayam and the most spicy, delicious nasi goreng, and my favourite Martabak Manis.
The energy was beautiful, and I spoke the little Bahasa I know to everyone. I finished off my special Ramadan experience in Indonesia. The energy was truly magical, and I feel extremely lucky to have been able to experience Ramadan in such a wonderful city and country. Indonesia... I love you! Please subscribe and support your bro!
