This week I'm sharing my latest, and possibly favourite ever, make! New Look 6696 in our Lady McElroy high twist Rickardi viscose fabric. I am absolutely besotted with this dressmaking fabric, it is a tighter weave than some viscose fabrics and didn't drop at all when I left it to hang, it was beautiful to sew with and press and the colours and print are my wildest fabric dreams come true to be perfectly frank! I lined it with our John Kaldor Libra stretch lining in black and have used this lining fabric with woven fabrics on a number of occasions now and it is a lovely, comfortable way to line things and make them feel less fussy. I'll talk you through any alterations and changes to the construction I made and will point you to a few relevant sewing tutorials too. I hope you love it as much as I do, I simply cannot wait to wear it! I would also wear it with flat sandals on holiday for a more laid back look too. ► Sew Essential https://www.sewessential.co.uk/ ► New Look 6696 https://www.sewessential.co.uk/misses-dresses-new-look-pattern-6696 ► Lady McElory viscose fabric https://www.sewessential.co.uk/floral-print-cotton-lawn-woven-fabric-multi ► John Kaldor Libra stretch lining https://www.sewessential.co.uk/fabrics/dressmaking-fabrics/linings/stretch-lining ► Interfacing https://www.sewessential.co.uk/vilene-h180-lightweight-iron-on-interfacing-90cm-wide-black ► How to make your own bias binding https://www.sewessential.co.uk/blog/how-to-make-bias-binding-the-easy-way/ ► How to finish a neckline with bias binding https://www.sewessential.co.uk/blog/how-to-finish-a-neckline-with-bias-binding/
