A few days ago, I went to a party and ran into a man I used to date. I discuss here how I felt humiliated and rejected. But I also reflected on how it all ties into getting older as a woman. We face so many emotions as we age: loneliness, anxiety, insecurity, and the feeling of hanging on to a life we used to have—missing that human touch, missing that ability to rebound quickly from a fall. Sometimes something that you feel is rejection may be ntoher's way fo just coping with your distance. I don't know...can we talk tonight?
Desi had a great week...got a new haircut and sang Bob Dylan.
I found a new eyeshadow palette and signed up for art lessons! Something new!
I wrote a poem this week that I love. I think it will be the title of the book I am writing.

Note About The Leaves You See :)
There are always a few trees in the brutal cold that still have their leaves. This is called marcescence.
The tree will never accept the farewell of its leaves if it stays warm in the sun, well into winter.
Rather than dropping in the January chill, they hang on the tree until they die when the spring comes. Sometimes change is not suitable. But the tree is so focused on still growing that it fails to prepare for winter and can suffer.
But, there is such life-affirming beauty in the leaves
that refuse to fall
