Sharing with you today the recipe of the world famous sweet Mysore Pak.
Mysore Pak, as the name suggests, is a sweet from the city of Mysore.
Mysore Pak is said to have been first prepared in the kitchens of the Mysore Palace during the regime of Krishna Raja Wadiyar IV, by a palace cook named Kakasura Madappa. He made a concoction of gram flour, ghee and sugar. When asked its name, Madappa had nothing in mind, simply called it the Mysuru paka.
Mysore Pak requires only 4 ingredients to cook- besan, sugar, ghee and water.
This recipe of Mysore Pak has a spongy appearance, but a melt in your mouth texture!

Recipe :
Mysore Pak
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Serves: 3-4
Ingredients:
1 cup besan
1 ½ cups sugar
1 cup ghee
½ cup water
Method:
Sift the besan to remove any lumps.
Mix in half the ghee to make a lump free paste.
Boil the sugar with the water to make a syrup of 1 string consistency.
Add the besan paste and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Add ¼ cup ghee and mix well.
Add the remaining ghee and mix well till all the ghee is incorporated.
Cook further for 3-4 minutes till the mixture starts coming together.
Remove on a greased tray and allow to cool a bit.
Cut before the Mysore Pak sets firmly. allow to cool completely and the n serve.
