നാലുമല, പുഷ്പകണ്ടം, ഇടുക്കി ജില്ലയയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന മനോഹമായ മലനിരകളാണ്. ഇവിടെ നിന്നും തമിഴ് നാടിന്റെയും കേരളത്തിന്റെയും വളരെ മൻഹാരമായ കാഴ്ചയും, മലനിരകളെ തഴുകി വരുന്ന ആ കാറ്റും ആസ്വദിക്കാൻ ഇവിടെ എത്തിച്ചേരണം എങ്കിൽ രണ്ടു മാർഗമാണ് പ്രധാനമായിട്ടും ഉള്ളതാണ്. ഒന്ന് 2 KM കുത്തായിക്കിടക്കുന്ന നാലുമലയിൽ നടന്നുകയറി നമുക്ക് ഇവിടെ എത്തിച്ചേരാം, മറ്റൊന്ന് 4 x 4 വണ്ടികൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് നല്ല റിസ്ക് എടുത്തു നമുക്ക് ഓഫ്‌റോഡ് ചെയ്തും നമുക്കിവിടെ പോകാം. ഞങ്ങൾ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തത് രണ്ടാമത്തെ മാർഗമായിരുന്നു. കാരണം ഓഫ്‌റോഡിനോട് അതിയായ ഒരു ആവേശമായിരുന്നു എനിക്കും എന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാർക്കും.
നാലുമലയിലേക്കുള്ള യാത്ര പെട്ടെന്ന് തീരുമാനിച്ചതായിരുന്നില്ല. ഏതൊരു ഓഫ്‌റോഡ് പ്രേമികളുടെയും ഒരു വികാരമാണ് നാലുമല. ക്രിസ്തിയാനികൾക്കു റോം ഉണ്ട് , മുസ്ലിം നു മക്ക ഉണ്ട്, അതുപോലെ ഞങ്ങൾ ഓഫ്‌റോഡ് ചെയ്യുന്നവർക്ക് ഇത് രണ്ടും കൂടിയ സ്ഥലമാണ് നാലുമല്ല . കാരണം ഇതു കേരളത്തിലെ വളരെ കഠിനമായ ഓഫ്‌റോഡ് ആണ്.

Our convoy consisted of four rugged vehicles: my family in the reliable Jimny, Shijo and family in their Jimny Suzuki 2024, Vinne leading the pack in the formidable Vivek MAHINDRA Thar, and Ansal and friends braving the trails in their Mahindra MM550.
