This is the remains of a castle town ruled by the Sengoku daimyo Asakura for about 100 years. The entire site is a special national historic site, and the four gardens within the historic site have been designated as special scenic spots.

▼Asakura Residence Ruins

The remains of the residence where the fifth head of the family, Asakura Yoshikage, lived.

▼Bathhouse Ruins Garden

It is considered to be the oldest garden in Ichijodani.

▼Suwa Residence Ruins Garden

Suwa Residence was the residence of Asakura Yoshikage's wife, and its garden is the largest among the ruins.

▼Nanyoji Temple Ruins Garden

Nanyoji Temple was a nunnery rebuilt by the third head of the family, Sadakage, for his daughter.

▼Restored Townscape

The stone walls and building foundation stones found during the excavation have been used to recreate the townscape over a distance of about 200m.

We hope you enjoy the atmosphere of the gardens and restored townscape, which are full of interesting sights. We would also be happy if you could use it to create spaces for work, study, waiting rooms, shops, stores, hospitals, facilities, etc.
