Celebrate with us as Chris Mattner, CEO of CME, and Frank Crisi, CME’s site manager, accept the prestigious National NECA Lighting Design and Construct Award 2024 for the Adelaide Oval LED light tower upgrade. This groundbreaking project has redefined the game-day experience with state-of-the-art LED luminaires, significantly enhancing energy efficiency, operational resilience, and visual impact.

During his speech, Chris Mattner highlights the importance of supporting young apprentices, particularly women, who are breaking barriers and making their mark in the electrical industry. He reflects on the significant challenges of the Adelaide Oval project, including tight deadlines, unpredictable weather, and delivering results while stadium events were ongoing. Chris acknowledges the incredible dedication of the team, who collectively worked over 18,000 hours without a single safety incident, a true testament to their commitment to excellence. He also expresses heartfelt gratitude for the seamless collaboration between CME, Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority, and Mott Macdonald, which was crucial to the project’s success.

Despite losing 17 days to inclement weather, the CME team delivered the project on time for the first BBL match of the 2023/24 season. This award celebrates teamwork, resilience, and innovation in lighting design and construction.
