Unit 1 Awareness of education system: from ancient Gyan Parampara to present education system, prominent higher education institutions and regulatory bodies
Unit 2. Diversity in learners: creativity, personality, intelligence, interest, learning preferences, disabilities, etc.
Unit 3. Teaching-learning process: teaching methods (general as well as subject specific), joyful learning, experiential learning, art integrated education, construction of knowledge, inclusive pedagogy, problems in teaching-learning, etc.
Unit 4. Assessment: importance of assessment, types of common assessment, assessment of learning, assessment as learning, assessment for learning, inclusive evaluation with special reference to special needs students
Unit 5. Classroom Management: classroom behavior, different activities and techniques like cooperative and collaborative learning, positive discipline, active and engaged classroom, creating inclusive class room
Unit 6. Role and Responsibilities of a Teacher: personal and professional characteristics of teachers, values and morals from our great ancient tradition, guru-shishya Parampara, ethics of teaching profession
Unit 7. Awareness about recent educational initiatives: RPWD Act 2016, NEP-2020, NCFFS2022, NCFSE-2023, local schemes to promote girl education and education of SEDGs, constitutional provisions for education in India.
Unit 8. Subject Knowledge: knowledge of core subjects: languages, science, mathematics, social science, humanities, contribution of Indian and other famous personalities in growth of disciplines, core concepts and their pedagogy
Unit 9. ICT in education: recent developments and future technologies, government ICT initiatives like DIKSHA, NISHTHA, SWAYAM, PM eVIDYA, PRASHAST, SWAYAM, etc.
Unit 10 Narratives: based on ideas of personalities like Gandhi, Vivekananda, Krishnamurti, Aurvindo, Savitribai Phule, Giju Bhai Badheka, etc. Some narratives may be taken from guiding documents, like NEP-2020, NCFs, etc.
