In this lecture Professor Zach Murphy will be presenting on Nephrolithiasis, also known as Kidney Stones. These renal calculi can be in several different forms including calcium oxalate stones, calcium phosphate stones, struvite stones (Staghorn), uric acid stones, and cystine stones. Calculi typically form in the kidneys and ideally leave the body spontaneously via the urethra without pain. Larger stones (like Struvite Stones) are very painful and may need surgical intervention.
