Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly applauded former U.S. President Donald Trump for imposing sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC). Calling it a “bold and just” move, Netanyahu hailed Trump’s executive order as a critical defense against what he described as an “anti-American and antisemitic corrupt court.”
The ICC had recently issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over alleged war crimes in Gaza. In response, Trump signed an order accusing the ICC of “illegitimate and baseless actions” against Israel and the U.S., authorizing asset freezes and travel bans on ICC officials and their families.
