This video provides a broad overview of peripheral nerve clinical neurophysiology in terms of principles and practice. It was designed for Neurologists approaching their final MRCP(UK) Speciality Certificate in Neurology 'exit' exams and contains a number of worked examples with data interpretation of important patterns.
I am a Member of the RCP(UK), but I have not been commissioned or asked to develop this teaching and so cannot claim to represent the views of the College, the BNS or those setting the exam questions.
The topics discussed are reflective of the curriculum requirements (https://www.jrcptb.org.uk/sites/default/files/2010%20Neurology%20%28amendment%202013%29_0.pdf) and I would urge those of you who have not been to a CNP Clinic to do so, as it will bring this all to life (and we are a friendly bunch).
The cases presented include:
Length dependent neuropathy
Generalised neuropathy
Sensory Ganglionopathy
Charcot Marie Tooth Type 1
Guillain-Barre
Myasthenia
There are lots of other patterns and please do feel free to check out the other cases on this channel where there are some more clinical points, aside from dry data.
Good luck with the exams!
