This is the all-new Audi A6 Avant!

Audi has reversed its naming policy of even-numbered cars being electric only, so the new A6 Avant will come with both petrol and diesel engines! The question is, what else has changed? Let’s take a closer look.

On the outside, the A6 has undergone a design overhaul, but it is still distinctly an Audi. Up front, there’s a large aggressive grille, flanked on either side by sharp headlights. Being an Audi, it’s naturally equipped with fantastic headlights, which come with the option to personalise in several different ways. Along the side the car sports flush door handles, and at the back there’s a large wraparound light bar, as well as a set of taillights. And of course, given it’s powered by a petrol or diesel engine, there looks to be a set of real exhaust tips as well!

The A6 also looks super smart on the inside. It’s equipped with Audi’s latest panoramic driving display, as well as the option to add a third screen for the front passenger! The A6 is likely to be equipped with soft-touch materials throughout most of the cabin, and there are ambient lights fitted throughout. It looks seriously impressive!

Regarding engines in the UK, there will be a choice of a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol or diesel engine. The petrol is front-wheel drive, while the diesel comes with a mild hybrid system and is equipped with Quattro all-wheel-drive - both cars produce 204hp. Elsewhere a 3-litre turbo V6 will also be available, and an S6 is also in the works. We also hope that a petrol-powered RS6 will arrive in the not-too-distant future!

The new Audi A6 goes on sale from April 1st 2025 costing from £52,500. So is it the best premium estate around? Or is a 5 Series Touring the better option? You’ll need to stick with Mat to see for yourself!
