There are 3 types of Gods within Fear & Hunger. First, The Old Gods, eldritch beings of immeasurable and unimaginable might who represent fundamental aspects of the universe. However, we find that the Old Gods have abandoned the realm of humanity and only their faint fragments remain in the world. Despite this, the traces of the Old Gods are worshiped by many, provide magic and supernatural abilities to those who channel them, and their leftover power can easily transform creatures. Additionally, they can easily destroy the minds of any who are unlucky enough to come into contact with them. Next we have The Ascended Gods, these are the most unique and mysterious as their strength is said to be on the same level as the Old Gods, but these beings are created from a human host who have undergone divine ascension by absorbing aspects of an Old God in the process. The ones we have seen are Alll-mer & Sulfur, and the God of Fear & Hunger. Their mere creation changes the entire world and pushes mankind forward bringing them into a new age, and they come to be worshiped and revered by many.
Lastly we have The New Gods who we will be focusing on today. These beings rule the current age of mankind which are the result of humanity wanting to gain power and divinity. They were once human themselves before sitting upon the Golden Throne in Ma’habre and ascending by coming into contact with the Green Hue within the realm of the Void. Through the process they are given a new mantle based on the soul nature they possess and the 4 we see in game are the Enlightened One, the Dominating One, the Tormented One, and the Endless One. The main characters, Enki the Dark Priest, Cahara the Mercenary, Ragnvaldr the Outlander, D'arce the Knight, and Le'garde can become New Gods with Le'garde becoming the Yellow King.
