Happy New Year 2025 from Bilal and Shaeeda! 🎉 In this special New Year’s vlog, we celebrate with family, love, and delicious traditions. This year is extra special for us because it’s Ayaan’s very first New Year’s! Having our moms and children together made the day unforgettable.
We dove into the rich traditions that make this time of year so unique. Bilal’s mom prepared a classic dish of black-eyed peas and smoked turkey, a beloved New Year’s tradition rooted in African culture. Shaeeda, always curious, explored the origins of this tradition and how it symbolizes luck and prosperity for the year ahead.
Meanwhile, Shaeeda’s mom brought a taste of Trinidad and Tobago with her famous sorrel drink, a holiday staple in her home country made from dried hibiscus flowers, spices, and sugar. It’s a refreshing and flavorful reminder of her roots.
Our bonus daughter joined in the fun, putting her own creative spin on the day by whipping up a Harry Potter-inspired drink called butterbeer. It was such a hit, adding a magical touch to our celebration.
The day was filled with laughter, gratitude, and delicious food as we sat down together to share these dishes, reflect on the past year, and look forward to the blessings of 2025. We feel so grateful to have the love and support of our family and to celebrate these beautiful moments together.
Thank you for being part of our journey, and we wish you and your loved ones a Happy New Year filled with joy, health, and success. Let us know in the comments how you celebrated your New Year and what traditions are special to your family. We’d love to hear from you!
