All through all 3 Amigo's with several updates. these three engines are the first time I built a completely new tender assembly from the trucks up with three lid options as an extended range tender.
The key original Next Generation S components were not the center of attention. The fan driven smoke assembly had been out for years, as had the AC track power conversion to DC and distribution to the digital reverse board. the DC magnetic Field Assembly has also been around in every Flyer Steam Engine and a few O Gauge Flyers too.
So what is so cool with this model? we took the vintage Royal Blue Chassis which had reverse in the boiler and no Smoke assembly. It had no smoke no chuff sound and no means to add them short of using a new chassis.
While completing the chassis we had w a need to rest ball bearing in the drive axles so we added that into the mix. we did not have a chuff and puff function so we added the smoke gear and several new PC boards to create a synchronized signal trigger and a idle smoke feature.
Then we got into the tender. Creating Northern like 6 wheel trucks with All Wheel Pick Up. A new tender chassis that would had the PC Boards for motor drive. smoke and sounds. We added a cooling fan and speaker with some serious wiring harness assembly. I asked Leon to design the body shape a b d he sent a great prototype which I turned into 3D Print parts. We even added 3 types of lids, a flat coal or oil style and a streamlined version that could finished in oil or coal.
Lastly I had to find a new digital sound function and we used Ngineering big sounds boards. For chuff only today. there are two other tracks for steam whistle and bell but we need triggers.
