Metro Manila, Philippines, is predicted to reach a housing shortage of around 1 million units by the year 2030. As more and more buildable spaces in the capital are diminished, Nightingale Manila tries explores alternative ways of housing design by re-imagining the existing infrastructure, the Philippine National Railway, and transforming it to provide housing units for the Filipino people currently living under extreme poverty.
