日光田母沢御用邸は、明治32年に当時皇太子であった大正天皇のご静養地として造営され、昭和22年に廃止されるまでの間、大正天皇をはじめ三代にわたる天皇・皇太子がご利用になった御用邸です。戦後、博物館や宿泊施設、研修施設として使用された後、3年の歳月をかけて修復・整備され、平成12年に記念公園として蘇りました。御用邸の建物は、江戸時代後期、明治、大正と三時代の建築様式をもつ集合建築群で、現存する明治・大正期の御用邸の中では最大規模のものです。また、外の庭園は日光の自然を配した庭園となっており、秋にはモミジを始めとする木々が色づいて美しい景観を作り出します。
今回は、紅葉が見頃となった11月12日に日光田母沢御用邸記念公園を訪問しました。紅葉に彩られた日光田母沢御用邸記念公園をお楽しみください。

The Nikko Tomozawa Imperial Villa was built in Meiji 32 as a retreat for Emperor Taisho, who was the Crown Prince at the time, and was used by Emperor Taisho and three other generations of emperors and Crown Princes until it was abolished in Showa 22. After the war, it was used as a museum, accommodation facility, and training facility, and then restored and maintained over a period of three years, and was revived as a memorial park in Heisei 12. The Imperial Villa is a group of buildings with architectural styles from the three eras of the late Edo period, the Meiji period, and the Taisho period, and is the largest of the existing Meiji and Taisho period imperial Villas. In addition, the outside garden is a garden with the nature of Nikko, and in autumn, maples and other trees change color to create a beautiful landscape.
