In this episode we review the Nikon FM10. This "Nikon" SLR is made by Cosina and constantly overlooked by most of us looking for "the next best film camera to buy." This camera was actually free to me as it was the camera my wife shot when she was a teenager!
Continuing my mantra that it's about the lens, light, and film stock I put it all on the line and shoot Dani's bridal shoot with the Nikon FM10 and a 50mm Zeiss Planar f/1.4 lens.
Side note: I definitely struggle focusing a manual SLR! I need to practice lots more! I've been spoiled by rangefinder focusing and it shows in this video. Lots of soft and out of focus images. I'll improve!
I also shoot black and white film for the first time in what seems like years. I shot a roll of Ilford FP4 Plus 125 and, per usual, a roll of Lomo 400 shot at 200. I home developed both rolls. I shot the Ilford FP4 plus 125 at 64 ISO and developed it in Ilford DD-X per the ISO 125 time suggested. I have so much to relearn regarding shooting and developing black and white film!
What are your thoughts on the Nikon FM10?
Is the Nikon FM10 worth buying?
Do you own a Nikon FM10?
Thanks for watching!
