FORT MYERS, Florida – November 30th, 2024

No. 4/5 South Carolina picked up its second win in the Elevance Health Fort Myers Tipoff, taking down Purdue 99-51 on Saturday afternoon.

The Gamecocks ran away with the game in the second quarter, outscoring the Boilermakers 30-6.

South Carolina will be back in action at home on Thursday, Dec. 5 to take on No. 13 Duke in the SEC-ACC Challenge.

Notables

With the 99-51 victory, South Carolina marked a new season-high for points, highlighted by a 30-point second period, the most in a single quarter this year.
Seven Gamecocks finished in double-figures, the most since six against Kentucky last season (2/25/24).
South Carolina’s bench was on full display, scoring 64 points to Purdue’s game total of 51.
MilLaysia Fulwiley led the way for the second time this season, grabbing 14 points and two steals all in 17 minutes on the court.
Tessa Johnson was a beast behind the arc, knocking down a team-high three 3s with her final one capping a 12-0 run by the Gamecocks in the fourth quarter to finish with 13 points.
Ashlyn Watkins finished with 13 points for her second game this season, scoring eight of them in the first half and ending with a near double-double with nine boards.
Chloe Kitts was perfect, going 4-for-4 from the floor and 4-for-4 at the line to end with 12 points for her fourth game this season in double-digits.
In addition to a team-high nine boards, freshman Joyce Edwards secured 11 points for her fifth game with 10+ points, the most on the team this season.
Freshman Maddy McDaniel had herself a day, scoring a season-high 10 points after shooting 100% from the floor (5-for-5), and dished out a team-high four assists for the third consecutive game.
