It's a WRAL Weather Alert Day, with central and eastern North Carolina waking up to snow outside Wednesday morning.
Preliminary reports, as of 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, show most totals from Wake County westward got anywhere from 0.25" to 1.5" of snow. Preliminary observed snow totals show RDU got an inch of snow. Although it may not seem like much, anything that's fallen has stuck to the roads. This is making for hazardous, slick conditions on the covered roads that have not been treated or plowed.
