Vast tundra, steep mountains, unforgiving weather, and somewhere in between, a few solitary reindeer.
The Scandinavian Arctic, home to the indigenous Sami people of the North, has always been scene to conflict and struggle, brought in from the outside. But in the last couple of decades industrialization has introduced a new threat, which the people of the Sapmi often describe as a form of "green colonialism".
Set against the threat caused by climate change and environmental destruction, and the public discussion about renewable energy sources – this documentary explores the ongoing conflict of export-oriented energy production and indigenous rights in the Scandinavian arctic.
