Not so fast : The case against euc racing Part 1

This episode I have to clear my head about a lot of the logistical things that come up when contemplating EUC racing at large.

It feels like a few of the companies, some more than others - are trying to posture a Mugen , when we haven’t quite gotten the baseline reliability of a Honda.

And the fact that we honestly haven’t even mastered EUC commuters , from a manufacturing perspective in terms of reliable parts per 100 or 1000.

I used to ride with my friend Aaron , and he would always joke about the Honda or Kawasaki of EUC, eventually coming around, but that these things are so premature that the reliability and standardization on machining parts is below the threshold of what genuinely warrants high priority building from parts manufacturers.

I don’t think that EUC racing is bad per se , I like to test my skills against my friends in a safe context. And if it happens, it really should happen on a closed track so in those ways I do give a nod to the safety attentions of EUC practices thus far on the track.

Right now, commuting on an EUC is an extreme sport , let alone engaging in high risk activities on unproven technologies.

Guys, if babies were delivered with a sort of reliability that these wheels are delivered with you guys would not be happy , there’ll be a lot of babies with bumps on their heads and bruises, broken bodies and everything choking on umbilical cords.

We need to get the fundamentals down guys… or do we?

I’m sure there’s people who agree in some who disagree but I really wanna know what the community thinks about this so fire it up.

I know it’s a “Racy” topic, but whether you’re pushing the limits or just enjoying the ride, having the right gear and the best equipment matters. Huge shoutout to the companies that support what I do!
