⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Abigail is sent by the viscount to work at Matthew's house as a cook - and gather information for her boss. The viscount has a hold on her. Matthew is troubled and losing control in drinking and carousing with his friends. They develop an affection for eachother, but each of them has secrets to hide. A complicated web is revealed. A good book that will capture you until the end!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The plot is full of emotions and intrigue. The characters are brilliantly portrayed, with the determination to overcome their foes as secrets are exposed.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The story of Matthew and Abigail was hard to put down. The plot was well laid out with just enough secrets and twists to keep the reader engaged. Abby Ayles is becoming a true master at interesting plots that still keep with the time period.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Matthew started out as a different type of gentleman in that he had a good appetite for food. Abigail was sent as a spy and was a very good cook. It was sweet to see how their relationship progressed but sad that the viscount had so much control over her. Her mother's story was sad and sweet. Overall, it was a very nice story.
