NS Southern Railway Heritage Unit & NS 1800 and more trains in Crescent Springs, KY!
Today I saw that NS #8099 & #1800 were in the yard on NS 179. We headed down to Crescent Springs, KY where I had just been to catch the Conrail HU. After being there for 10-15 minutes we heard the NS 179 was ready to leave the yard on the scanner. About 20 mins later I heard and EMD working hard up the hill. NS SD70ACC #1800 DC to AC unit slowly rounded the curve. After the gates went down an idiot sped over the crossing. It went by and then I waited to see NS 8099 (Southern RY) round the bend. It was the mid DPU. I was very glad to see it again because it is my favorite heritage unit of all time and I had not ever caught a NS train with 2 special engines. After that we went to get some food and while we’re doing that, NS priority intermodal 26C sped by. We went down by the bridge and saw another SD70ACC leading a train! At the end was BNSF ES44AC #6141. W event back over where we originally were and we saw a loaded NS grain train. It had a manned SD70ACe at the end to work as a helper unit for trains getting up the Erlanger hill. After that we headed home.
Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed!!
