1. Hat Head Holiday Park is one of the best caravan parks we have stayed at. Yes, we try not to visit too many caravan parks in general (as we prefer the less crowded camps), but this one's a bloody ripper! 2. Swans Crossing (Free Camp) - we've camped here numerous times over the years and, honestly, this is one of our favourite free camps. Approximately a 30 minute drive from the coast, set in the Kerewong State Forest with a lovely freshwater swimming hole. 3. Kingfisher Farm (Hipcamp) is located just west of Kempsey on the New South Wales Mid North Coast. A privately-owned farm with a grassy campsite right on the crystal clear creek. We spent our Easter here with friends, visited the Slim Dusty Centre nearby and the iconic 'Pub With No Beer' and just enjoyed relaxing around camp, creek swims and cooking up a few feasts. Dogs and campfires allowed and only 5 large sites available (two directly overlooking the creek). 4. Barrington Tops National Park - we explored the beautiful 'Tops' in winter (with the chance of snow forecasted); a winter wonderland of sub tropical rainforests and the amazing wildlife, including brumbies. After three cold and wet days camping seeing temperatures hit below zero, we realised one thing, and that is we should have planned to stay longer. What an absolutely beautiful place this is and there is so much to see. We will be back! 5. Chichester State Forest - Another chilly camp in winter, but again, so stunning! Creek crossings, waterfalls, bush walking, campfire cooking plus a brewery 🍻 😉 Adam had a dip in the icy creek 🥶 the kids are still not overly keen on the freezing temperatures. This place would also be stunning in summer with plenty of clear creek and waterholes to cool down in. 6. Blue Mountains - it’s been on our list of places to visit for a while and we thought, why not camp in the Blue Mountains...in the middle of winter! Another spectacular National Park, just 1.5 hours drive from Sydney. Mind blowing hikes and lookouts, Scenic World; a must do tourist attraction, seeing the Three Sisters, chocolate factory and a glow worm tunnel. So much to see and do here, however the icy winds got the better of us. 7. Seal Rocks - a small coastal town just 3 hours north of Sydney. More of a relaxed holiday destination, rather than a town, with not alot to do except enjoy some of the most stunning beaches we've seen. We escaped the school holiday crowds by camping at Treachery Beach Camp, which really gave us a relaxed bush camping feel that we love so much. - Ambassadors for Conqueror Off Road We proudly supply research and development, testing, design ideas, photography, marketing content, feedback from viewers and product placement for Conqueror Off Road.
