To facilitate rehabilitation work on the Rockaways line, the line was shutdown for several months. (A) trains only ran to Howard Beach-JFK and the Rockaway Park Shuttle operated between Rockaway Park and Far Rockaway, with shuttle buses replacing service between Howard Beach and the Rockaways.
