US President Donald Trump pardoned or commuted sentences for over 1,500 individuals connected to the US Capitol riot.
14 members of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, two far-right organisations are among those whose sentences were commuted by the new Republican president.
Trump faced questions on his first day in office about the controversial decision.
He also signed an order directing the Department of Justice to drop all pending cases against suspects accused in the riot.
Among those receiving commutations was Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes.
Rhodes did not enter the Capitol but directed his members from outside and was sentenced to 18 years for his role in organising weapons and directing members.
