The Old Dale Historic Mining District is a remote area outside of Joshua Tree National Park that holds the remains of more than a dozen mines. They are difficult to get to, requiring a legit off-roading vehicle but the payoff is pretty awesome to explore these old places. We saw the Rose of Peru Mine, Brooklyn Mine, and Gold Standard Mine.
