Oggudolu is a traditional folk art of Telangana where people belonging to Kurma community sing, praise and narrate the stories of Hindu Gods (Mallana, Beerappa and Yellamma). The art originated among the communities of Yadav and Kurma, who devoted themselves to ballad-singing in praise of Lord Shiva, who is also called Mallikarjuna. This tradition-loving and ritual-performing community moves from place to place, narrating inspiring stories of their community god. They are also traditional priests who perform rituals in the marriage of Lord Mallanna (Lord Shiva) with Bhramaramba.
