宮古島の色街の中心地である平良西里、通称イーザト――。
ここはかつて〝サカナヤ―〟と呼ばれた料亭があり、酌婦たちが陰で身体を売った町。
〝サカナヤ―〟は料亭からスナックへ形を変え、30分1万円で〝遊べる店〟として近年まで脈々と受け継がれた。
日本各地で遊郭や赤線地帯をの名残が消えてゆく。娼婦たちが雲をつかむように消え去ったイーザトの路地裏を歩く。

Hirara Nishizato, commonly known as Izato, is the center of Miyakojima's red-light district. This is a town where there used to be a restaurant called "Sakanaya", where the barmaids sold their bodies behind the scenes.
``Sakanaya'' changed its form from a restaurant to a snack bar, and has been handed down to recent years as a ``playground'' for 10,000 yen for 30 minutes.
The remnants of red-light districts and red-light districts are disappearing in various parts of Japan. I walk through the back alleys of Isaat, where the prostitutes have disappeared like a cloud.
