Recollections:
Well here it is, the first ever MST3k Week, the most definitely the biggest video project (Until Year Two) that I have ever done.

I knew that when starting this project of seven videos that these weren’t going to be my funniest videos, but the idea or starting this project was to talk about the show’s beginnings, it’s lows (like that short lived cartoon), and go all the way to the present with the return with it’s latest season at the time, season 11.

Conception of this started around the same time after I worked on the Emoji Movie and Woody Woodpecker review (Episode 75) around May of 2018, I wanted to do something special for the show’s 30th anniversary and with the upcoming second Netflix season. I planned this out to come out on Thanksgiving week on 2018 around the same time of show’s 30th anniversary, but then in September 25th, 2018 I saw on Jonah Ray’s Instagram that season 12 was coming out on Thanksgiving. It was there when the planets aligned for me with this project! The hardest part about doing this project was picking out what topics I wanted to do, I know I wanted to do the KTMA season, the MST3k Movie, the cartoon, my favorite episodes (at the time), and season 11. But that was five videos already planned out, I still had to think of two more videos to come up with. So I decided to make them to be top 10 videos (Top 10 host segments and Top 10 worst movies featured on MST3k) which are already pretty hard for me to do and already a tricky type of video for me to do.

The writing started in May and was finished in October 2nd, the filming for ALL seven videos began on October 7th, then finally by late October I was completely in post production. You might have noticed that Craptober was being made around that time, well I actually made those three videos two months beforehand (August and September) working on both simultaneously, I was like a mad man working on ten videos in this short amount of time where my November deadline was slowly closing in. Around the same time of post production, my friend Morgan Leger who I met a few months thanks to James Sullivan, anyways before then he told me that he had the first two KTMA episodes because he backed season 11. And he was generous enough to send those two episodes for the KTMA video.

My plan was to have each video come out EVERY DAY of the week, it almost worked out except for Thanksgiving because I got distracted watching season 12 and going to see some family around that time.

Before I close out my recollections I want to address the elephant in the room, my top 10 worst movies featured on MST3k video. While some of those picks I do stand by still, A LOT of people noticed that most of my picks and wordage was lifted from the Youtube channel “EternallyOptimistic Reviews”, I was rushing myself to get this done and I have no one to blame but myself. I apologize for what I did, it’s something I’ve done before and I’ve learned to never do anything like that again. If there’s gonna be a movie, tv show, or top 10 list in the future, it’ll always be me and my opinion towards it no one else’s words coming out of my mouth.

All in all, the first MST3K Week while a basic overview on a lot of topics (KTMA, The Movie, Host Segments, The Cartoon, Favorite Episodes, Season 11), but I’m still proud and glad that I did this project going over what is quite possibly my favorite show of all time. Who am I kidding? Of course it’s my favorite show of all time!
