The reader is Bill Jarvis & originally audio recorded on 2/4/1980.
This is the first instalment of a three part lecture series entitled ‘The Doctrines of Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism’. This first part of this first lecture is on ‘The Three Great Secret Laws’, see http://https://www.nichirenlibrary.org/en/dic/Content/T/130

When Mr Causton talks about ‘Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism’, he is referring to the Buddhism of Nichiren Daishonin as practiced today by SGI (Soka Gakkai International). Since this lecture SGI and the Nichiren Shohu Priesthood have separated and are two different religious organizations. The Priesthood have deviated considerably from Nichiren Daishonin's teachings.

About Richard Causton (1920-1995)

Richard Causton served as the first General Director of SGI-UK for 20 years, from 1975 to 1995. He also held the position of Vice-President of SGI Europe.

## About SGI
Soka Gakkai International (SGI) is a Buddhist organization based on the teachings of Nichiren Daishonin. Members practice by chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.

## Historical Context
Since the 1990s, SGI has operated as an organization separate from Nichiren Shoshu (also known as the Danto sect). Therefore, any references to NSUK (Nichiren Shoshu UK) in historical materials now correspond to what is known as SGI-UK (www.sgi-uk.org).

Important Note: Many of these lectures were recorded before what is known as the 'priesthood issue.' It should be noted that Richard Causton consistently followed Daisaku Ikeda as his mentor, and these lectures do not endorse the priesthood.
