The Sutra of Perfect Enlightenment mentions that the initial practice of the Buddha originated from his heart; the heart is where the original wisdom and purity are unlocked to help us see through to the truth and achieve ultimate enlightenment. In order to unlock purity and wisdom, one must pay close attention to the arising of thoughts.
