On this trip my buddy Johnny and I headed out to a cabin and tunnel that has some pretty cool historical significance behind them. The legend behind the tunnel project William "Burro" Schmidt worked tirelessly for 38 years to complete the tunnel. It went from one side of the mountain to the other and it spans roughly half a mile. Talk about having a strong will and determination. The main reason why he made the tunnel was to transport the ore from nearby mines to the other side of the mountain, but halfway through this task a road as well as an extension of the railroad line pretty much made the tunnel obsolete. Nonetheless, he was determined to finish with all that he's gone through and completed his life's work in 1938. Hope you guys enjoy this one!
