1997年創業。バブル崩壊後、山一証券が破綻した年です。
この年は、国内でほかに新規オープンした宿はなかったそうです。
3万坪の敷地。1,000坪の建物には客室はわずか18室。
創業者の久保氏が、それまでの旅館業の常識だったコスト重視の考え方を捨て、お客様を大事に贅を尽くした一流の宿をつくるという信念で作られたそうです。その想いは運営でも揺らぐ事は無く、今なお、館内・敷地内の随所で感じられます。

One-of-a-kind, exquisite ryokan｜Japanese hot-spring｜onsen
Tanigawa Onsen “Bettei Senjuan” in Gunma
Founded in 1997. It was after the burst of the bubble economy and the year Yamaichi Securities went bankrupt.
No other new inns opened in Japan that year.
The inn was built on a 30,000 tsubo (about 100,000m2) site, with only 18 guest rooms in a 1,000 tsubo (about 3,300m2) building.
The founder, Mr. Kubo, abandoned the cost-oriented approach that had been the norm in the ryokan business up to that time, and built the inn with the belief that it would be a first-class inn that cherishes its guests and offers them the utmost in luxury. This belief has not wavered in the management of the ryokan, and can still be felt throughout the building and grounds.
