I've heard that users of Zafira and Vectra (production years around 2005) also suffer from this manufacturing defect. I think the tutorial is more suitable for electronics engineers/hobbyists. Anyhow, if you know how to *reliably* solder two wires together then I'm sure you succeed with the repair:)
