Welcome to the AMOK Orienteering School. Lesson #2 is on "contouring" - following the landscape without gaining or loosing height - or simply following the contours on the map. In todays course the runner is challenged with a short leg between two controls where it's too steep to run in a direct line. There are also very few hand rails that can guide along the way. But the two controls are at the same level, so by following the landscape we can get some certainty, that we'll find the control - without running both up and down. This is the second lesson in a series of short videos which will teach you how to find your way through forests or cities using map and compass. Our videos are not theoretical lessons. Instead we use short clips from actual events which can teach you what to do - or absolutely not to do. If you follow this channel or Amager Orienteering Klub (AMOK) on Facebook, we'll keep you posted when the next lesson is ready. https://www.facebook.com/amagerok Ernst Poulsen
