In the misty twilight of ancient forests, beneath the canopy of centuries-old oaks, the sacred rituals of the Estonians came to life. The wind whispered through the treetops, carrying the scent of herbs, and the air was thick with the aromas of smoldering incenses.

Since ancient times, the Estonians had known the power of herbs and mushrooms that opened other worlds, removed the veils of reality, and allowed one to peer into the very essence of existence. The meadows were strewn with liberty caps—small yet potent heralds of revelation, whose thin, ringing voice resonated in the minds of those who dared to listen. The forests harbored whole realms of red-capped fly agarics—formidable yet wise guardians of hidden knowledge.

During the rituals, priests and shamans carefully selected plants, following ancient recipes passed down orally through generations. Resinous fragrances burned in the braziers, while viscous, intoxicating infusions of wormwood, hemp, and poppy stretched thickly in sacred bowls. Hemlock and henbane, formidable yet effective, led the initiates into a trance, severing the earthly world and opening doors to the realm of spirits.

The Estonians believed that through these plants, one could touch the origins of existence, hear the voices of ancestors, and discover one's true destiny. It was thought that under the influence of these substances, shamans could foresee the fate of their tribe, converse with gods, and uncover secrets hidden from ordinary mortals.

For the body does not live in this world alone—the spirit needs its own paths, leading beyond the visible. And the Estonians, possessing ancient wisdom, walked these paths, guided by the voices of the forest, the herbs, and fate itself.
