The Gion Maikoya Geisha Experience in Kyoto, Japan is so beautiful and amazing. We learned a lot from our friendly and professional guide about maikos and geikos. We were allowed to take photos and videos for certain parts of the experience to share with friends and family, but we were advised NOT to post maiko’s face on social media to protect her privacy so I obscured her face in this video. This video is a short sample of what we experienced. The Q&A session is private (can’t record, take photos or video) and allowed us to ask the maiko questions about her life as a maiko.
