Alex Ovechkin is officially just 10 goals from breaking the all time NHL goals record to surpass Wayne Gretzky. I cannot believe what we are witnessing this season from the Russian Machine as he has been on an absolute mission this season. He broke his leg in November yet is somehow defying the odds and is scoring at the 3rd highest goals per game average of his entire career at .7 goals per game. After scoring his 32nd goal as the Washington Capitals faced off at MSG against the New York Rangers, he is on record to break the record on April 6th. He is now also just 1 point shy of 1,600 points. Every game Ovechkin plays is now must watch hockey! This one was a good game, as it felt very much like a playoff game. 3 lead changes, 2 fights, big hits, plenty of chippy hockey and an Overtime period to settle it!
